CAMPS & DAILY SCHOOL
The Forest is calling
At Forest Bloom, we believe the forest is not just a place to play—it is a living laboratory, an art studio, and a sanctuary. Whether your child joins us for our Daily Outdoor School or our Seasonal Camps, they are embarking on a "Hero’s Journey" where their heart and mind are free to fly in the heart of Golden Gate Park.
Whether it’s a week of summer discovery or a holiday trek through the winter fog, our camps are anchored in a Natural Pace. We don't rush from activity to activity; we follow the "Hundred Languages" of the children, allowing them the time to truly see the banana slug on the trail, the texture of the redwood bark, and the strength within themselves.
The Daily School Experience
Our year-round program is a Reggio-Emilia inspired immersion for children ages 2–6. We don't just "visit" nature; we build a community within it.
-
Our day follows a gentle, predictable rhythm that honors the child’s pace. We move through Golden Gate Park with intention, leaving space for "The Hundred Languages"—where a child might spend an hour investigating a single spiderweb or charting the movement of the fog.
-
Creativity is our pulse. We provide professional-grade materials for clay work, watercolor, and "Loose Parts" play. Once or twice a week, our arts or dance & music specialist joins us to weave song and rhythm into the trees and ends with a mini-sound bath the children play sound healing instruments.
-
We are guests of the park. Children learn to be stewards of the Earth through creature identification, hiking, foraging (under expert guidance), and caring for the "Fairy Doors" and hidden corners of our outdoor classroom.
-
Climbing "twisty trees," navigating uneven terrain, and building forts are the building blocks of confidence. We support children as they learn to manage risk, solve problems, and trust their own bodies.

Seasonal & Summer Camps
Ages 2–8 | Holiday Breaks & Summer Weeks
Our camps are high-energy immersions into the magic of the seasons. We take the same "Freedom" philosophy and turn up the volume on adventure.
What a Camp Week Looks Like: From the mud kitchen to the cartography desk, every day is a new exploration. Campers might find themselves:
Exploring: Mapping hidden trails, using a compass, and visiting the park’s lakes, hiking.
Creating: Farm-to-table cooking, painting, drawing, special art projects, mud-cake baking, dancing, playing instruments, singing, participating in sound & music medicine (sound bath), storytelling and daily open-ended art.
A Note for Families: We meet children exactly where they are. Potty training is not required, and for our younger explorers who still need a mid-day rest, we provide a peaceful, supervised space for naps amidst the trees.
